RADIOFREQUENCY TREATMENT FAQ
Radio-frequency skin tightening is an aesthetic technique that uses radio frequency (RF) energy to heat skin with the purpose of stimulating cutaneous collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production in order to reduce the appearance of fine lines and loose skin. The technique induces tissue remodeling and production of new collagen and elastin. The process provides an alternative to facelift and other cosmetic surgeries.
By manipulating skin cooling during treatment, RF can also be used for heating and reduction of fat. Currently, the most common uses of RF-based devices are to noninvasively manage and treat skin tightening of lax skin (including sagging jowls, abdomen, thighs, and arms), as well as wrinkle reduction, cellulite improvement, and body contouring.
Immediately following the treatment, your skin will feel tighter, with more tightening improvements appearing gradually over the months after treatment. However the RF devices provided by DERMATECC are not as powerful as the ones used by skin care professionals in order to be safe for home use. This means that you have to use the device a couple of times more to see the same results.
Results from RF treatments in a salon are said to last up to a couple of years, and a single initial treatment can be enough to produce results in some people, depending on skin thickness.
We’re all exposed to low levels of human-made RF every day, from cell phones, TV, WiFi, etc. Because it’s used for so many things, radiofrequency has been extensively studied for its impact on human health. According to the FDA, the World Health Organization has classified RF radiation as “possibly carcinogenic to humans”—right along with coffee, power lines, and body powder. However, there is no conclusive evidence that RF exposure increases cancer risk in humans, even in people regularly exposed to higher amounts of RF for their jobs. The main known risk associated with RF is the potential for burns from the thermal heating effect for people exposed to high doses—for instance, those who work around radar equipment without proper protection.

“Unlike some other fat reduction methods, this treatment is completely painless, has no downtime and provides an even, feathered result without surface irregularities which can a problem with other technologies."

"With radiofrequency, we heat the skin at a more superficial level to trigger collagen production. There’s really little to no downtime."

"When she was finished with half of my face, I was surprised to see that (like magic!) the area right under the apple of my cheek became subtly, but noticeably, more taut."

"Radiofrequency is an effective technique to incorporate into a facial, as it improves the contour of the face and sculpts it, uses warm radio waves to stimulate the collagen fibres, and "dramatically tightens and firms the neck, jaw line and décolletage, redefining the facial contours.""
